Terms of Service

Last updated: May 27, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By visiting pretro.io, creating a room, joining a room, or otherwise using any part of the Pretro service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Because Pretro does not require an account, your first use of the site counts as acceptance.

2. What Pretro is

Pretro is a no-account, ephemeral sprint ceremony tool. It lets a small team run planning poker and retrospectives in a shared web room without signing up. Rooms are temporary, and room data is automatically deleted thirty days after the last activity inside the room. The service is currently free to use.

We may add, remove, or change features at any time. Because Pretro is in active development, expect occasional rough edges. We will not introduce a paid tier without giving fair notice on the site.

3. Acceptable use

Pretro is intended for teams running sprint ceremonies. When you use it, you agree not to:

  • Post content that is illegal, harassing, defamatory, threatening, hateful, or that infringes on anyone's rights.
  • Upload or share material you do not have the right to use, including copyrighted images, gifs, or text.
  • Use Pretro to send spam, phishing links, malware, or automated abuse.
  • Attempt to break, probe, or overload the service, its underlying infrastructure (including Supabase, Vercel, Klipy), or any other user's session.
  • Impersonate another person, team, or organization in a way designed to deceive.
  • Scrape, mirror, or resell the service or any data inside it without our written permission.

Room hosts have the ability to remove disruptive participants and should do so when needed. We may also remove rooms or content that violate these rules.

4. Content and ownership

You own the content you create inside Pretro. Retro cards, action items, poker estimates, and chat messages belong to the person and team that created them. We do not claim any ownership in your team's ideas, retro contents, or action items.

You grant us the limited rights we need to actually run the service: to store the content, transmit it to the other participants in the same room, display it back to you, and back it up. We do not use your retro contents to train any model, sell to advertisers, or share outside the room.

Third-party assets such as Klipy gifs, royalty-free music, and emoji glyphs are licensed from their respective providers and are not yours or ours.

5. Privacy

Our handling of personal data and analytics is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. In short: no accounts, no email collection, no selling of data, no third-party ads.

6. Service availability

We do our best to keep Pretro online and working, but we cannot promise uninterrupted, error-free service. We may take the service offline for maintenance, upgrades, or other operational reasons. We may also limit, suspend, or stop offering features without notice.

7. Liability disclaimer

Pretro is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verlog Technologies and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including without limitation loss of data, loss of goodwill, loss of business, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of Pretro.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the service is limited to one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100).

8. Termination

You can stop using Pretro at any time by closing the tab and clearing your browser storage. We can suspend or terminate your access (or any specific room) at any time if we believe you are violating these terms, harming other users, or harming the service. Because Pretro has no accounts, this most often takes the form of removing a room or blocking a browser identifier.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage. Continued use of Pretro after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of Pretro will be resolved in the courts of Alberta, and you and we both consent to that jurisdiction.
